iImportant changes for VSCC and IRC competitive events. Although MAFCGB is not directly affiliated to MotorSport UK many members take part in MUK governed events run by the VSCC and Inter-Register Club. Starting on 1st January 2020 MUK is introducing the requirement for all competitors in MUK events to hold a new RS Clubman licence (as a minimum). These changes will affect Autotests, Trials, Cross Country, Road Rallying, 12 Cars Rallies and Scatters. If you participate as a driver, bouncer, navigator or even passenger in one of these events you will need to be in possession of a RS Clubman licence. Th RS Clubman licence can be applied for by anyone, online, it's a relatively straightforward, takes about two minutes, and what's more it's free... go to this link https://rsclubman.motorsportuk.org/
40year old exemption from MOT change.
When re-applying for road tax you may in future need to self certify that the vehicle is exempt. Visit www.fbhvc.co.uk/mot-exemption-information follow the links . ALSO in the mean time it may be wise to carry in the car a print out of the explanatory letter here....
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the website of the Model A Ford Club of Great Britain (MAFCGB).
The Club caters for owners, prospective owners, enthusiasts and devotees of the Ford Model A, AF, AA, B, BF and BB built from 1927 to 1934.
We provide help and information as well as being the British network for exchange of knowledge, assistance and spare parts for these vehicles.
Our award winning magazine "Quail", published every two months, has articles, letters, for sale/wants adverts and technical tips.
We organise events and tours which provide a sociable, friendly atmosphere focused around historic cars; all the family are welcome.
Moreover the Club is a member of the Inter-Register Club (IRC) so all our members can participate in the IRC events nationwide. The IRC events are for pre-war vehicles and form a framework of social driving days with a lighthearted, mildly competitive element. See the events page for the list for this year.
The Club is listed with the DVLA as an Authorised Club and offers a dating, authentication and certification service which is recognised by the DVLA.
And we can help with details of cars and provide help for those researching the history of their vehicles.
We are affiliated to the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs .
